65 Review

Hello
all, I just acquired
an AMD 65 and I can't wait to shoot it. I wanted to
post some pics.
At first glance it seems not to have a "stock"
rear or front sight. Another possible after market
addition is the trigger.....it is as light as a feather
in terms of the pull.

Had a wonderfull
experience.....got the chance to shoot the AMD
65 this morning and it was a joy to shoot.
I put about
10 mags through it (300 rds) without a hiccup.
Sighting in was very easy with the modified
sights. The action was smooth and I really enjoyed
the "stiffness" of the overall rifle.
The extractor
threw the casings a good 5 to 7 feet from me
@ 2oclock.
I used Yugoslav.
millitary surplus for the first 90 rounds then
switched to Silver Bear for another 90 then
Wolf for the remaining 120 rounds. All of which
were eaten up and spit out flawlessly. I swabed
the barrel after every magazine just to defoul.
My best group at 50 yrds was roughly 3.5"
from 30 rounds at shoulder position. Was more
than pleased with the accuracy, I was afraid
that it would be a "bullet hose" due
to the length of the barrel
I need to loosen
up the retaining pin for the stock for a faster
deployment but I believe that it will loosen
itself up with time.
Overall I would
reccomend anyone interested in a compact AK
to get one. |

With 30 round mag and sling this AMD65
is ready for the range or CQB

With the stock folded, these just look
mean
One thing I would change if I could would be to loose
the US "S" & "F"
but they don't distract too much at all from this
quality rifle.

Looks good from the side. It's built
with two US pistol grips.
This looks good and adds to the US parts count.
Per
the Global
Website: Green canvas sling for AK-47
Has leather tab and adjustment buckle. Made in China.

This
looks like an adjustable rear sight plate for the
PKM but painted for better visibility.

The PKM
sight per the Global
Website:
Windage Adjustable Rear Sight plate for
PKM.
Calibrated to 1500 meters.
Will not fit AK's without modifications.
Made in East Germany

Clean insides, bolt & carrier look
to be unfired or if used only lightly.

Built on a Global USA receiver.

This
is a nice looking break.
It looks to be a custom US built break.
It styled on the original AMD-65 break with the unique
large holes. This one is designed with the holes in
back to keep a realistic profile. One of the most
realistic I've seen short of a full SBR (short barrel
rifle)
The break is screwed on, then welded
per law so that it creates a permanent barrel of legal
length. It looks like they then did a bit of custom
work to blend the muzzle into the barrel . No ugly
welds or mismatched finish either more signs of a
quality build.

Note: We did
not publish the price paid for this AMD65 to
save the rest of you the agony. Trust us you
don't want to know how little he paid for this
one. |
