How
to disassemble an AK47 Magazine

The few basic parts of a typical
30 round AK47 magazine;
the box (magazine body),
spring, follower, and bottom plate
 |
Use a bullet to push in the button
on the bottom of the AK47
magazine. |

Once the
button is pushed
in push the
edge of the magazine bottom plate with your
thumb |
 |
Use the bullet in the hole as
a handle
and continue to slide the bottom plate back |
 |
Sometimes the bottom plate is
too stiff for
this technique, you could also try a screwdriver |
 |

As
you pull the bottom plate off, be aware the spring
inside the magazine is still
compressed and will pop out as soon as the bottom
plate is removed. |

is clipped on to the follower. |

Just pinch the last two rings
of the spring together and pull the spring out. |

With the original follower removed, reverse
the process to put the magazine
back together.
Use
a US made follower in all your AK47 magazines and
you'll be ahead of the game as far as the number
of US parts. |

The bottom side
of the spring holds another plate that is
held on with similar clips. This bottom
of this plate becomes the button we started
with. |
