Here's our review (with help) on these high quality uniqure AK47 versions

Valmet from Finland. Forged/milled receivers and barrels between 16" and 20" in lengths with varying barrel weights. The main difference between Valmet's and other AK variants is the movement of the sights and stock configuration. The sight placement on AK's are with the rear sights on the distal end of the receiver and the front sight is on the barrel. The Valmet's places the rear sight on the proximal sight of the receiver cover and the front sight on the distal end of the gas tube. This gives a longer sight radius and aids in accuracy. The workmanship is good to very good. This rifle is chambered in 7.62x51mm, 5.56x45mm and 7.62x39mm.

Assault rifle model Rk 62 has been offered in 13 variants, with 7.62 × 39 mm, 5.56 × 45, and 7.62 × 51 cartridges and metal, folding and plastic stocks, Valmet M60, M62, M76, M82. The M82 is a bullpup design, with the action and magazine moved into the stock, and the trigger far forward on the barrel. This Kalashnikov variant was seen in two Arnold Schwarznegger films, Commando (1985) and Predator (1987).

Rk92s civil version

This is the civil version of Finnish army Rk95. Only semiauto fire. but has everything else that m95 like rifle grenades and silencer possibilities.

78 support

The Valmet 78 7.62mm x 39mm is an RPK style squad support weapon. This weapon is still in use by Finnish defense forces.

Model 84 belt fed 7.62x51

Model 84 belt fed 7.62x51 in the U.S. This weapon is currently owned by Robert Johnson and he says it's not for sale at any price. This weapon fires from an open bolt at 1800 RPM. There is also one rare prototype M84K with a 10 inch barrel and folding tube stock, this rifle is also part of the Robert Johnson collection but no photo was supplied. Be aware there are forgeries on the market but the original version can be identified by the Finnish translation of "Come get some" stamped onto the side.

Valmet 71s

The Valmet 71s is a stamped receiver 5.56mm x 45mm semi auto rifle that was built for the U.S. civilian market; though some were also sold to France and other parts of Europe. Built from 1971-1978 this rifle is functionally very similar to the Valmet 62 and later 76, but cosmetically there are many differences. One of the goals Valmet had for designing this rifle was to attract part of the U.S. market that desired an AK style weapon that actually looked like an AK47. Valmet answered this call with the model 71. Some of the changes using a more traditional AK style gas block. Moving the sights forward like that of the AK47 and changing the handguard. Also Valmet built these rifles to use the American 5/56x45 chambering that was readily available on the U.S. Market. The previous Valmet Model 62 was chambered in 7.62x39 which at the time was very rare and expensive ammo to buy in the states.

Sir,

I am looking for a supplier who has a receiver cover for a M76 Valmet. I have a factory receiver cover which has the scope mount, but I am looking for a receiver cover with the rear sight attached. Any help you can provide would be great.

Bryan
