A typical
AKM (7.62x39) built from a Romanian 'G' parts
kit. The AK47 bullpup kit with only two
minor modifications to the rifle.

These pictures won't win
any prizes but they should help give you an
idea what is involved
in this quick (almost no tools) conversion .
I took the pictures quickly
as I was installing this bullpup
kit so they are not all in focus

|
|
We didn't install the open sight extensions
because the owner is planning to use an optic
(red dot) mounted to the rail on the upper
handguard (not included in the bullpup kit).
That should work well, and
look much nicer
than
the
extended sight posts which would have been
needed otherwise

|
|
It
includes
one page of instructions, both sides three
column layout. A few parts diagrams only
three pics total. So this is
not exactly a snap together if you are not
so mechanically inclined. I am so-so, never
put one of these kits together, and had it
together in about an hour, and I was interrupted
a few times

The
trigger group is US made, seems to
be well made, a quality set of parts for
sure. Only big difference is the trigger
part is cut in two

|
|
The
trigger operating wire threads through the
handguard / trigger guard / pistol grip.
This part took about two head scratches to
get straight, and a bit of wiggling to manage
to fit the tight plastic grip into the area
under the trunnion and the receiver. The
trigger hangs there and you slide a plastic
pin through to keep it in place.

|
|
The
lower handguard was a bit large, but with
the universal AK47 tool (rubber mallet)
it was easily installed with no modifications
other than a tap or two

|
|
The
kit
was made for an AK without a bayonet lug
?? Ok maybe for a chinese type.. anyway,
this was the first of only two minor mods
I needed to make to the Ak47 bullpup
kit

|
|
No
way I was going to remove a bayonet lug..
;) So I used a dremel to remove the
plastic spur from each side of the handguard
