Ewbank
Russian Saiga 12 Conversion
Quick Review with pictures
We
had a chance to review and take pictures of a very
cool shotgun.

|
These
Saiga Shotguns are
imported in a sporting configuration with
no pistol grip and the triggers are moved back
to accommodate the lack of pistol grip.

|
|
Converting the Saiga involves moving the trigger
forward then installing the pistol grip

|
|
The Saiga 12 uses a detachable
magazine. This one is a 5 round mag others
are available in 10 rounds too

|
|
The
sights on the Saiga 12 are on the gas tube.
The short radius
is very fast to acquire and easy to find when
the shotgun is shouldered. there is also a scope
mount rail on the receiver

|
|
At
the end of the barrel is a muzzle nut protecting
threads

|
|
This
one also sports
a Tapco AR style adjustable shoulder stock. While
I am no fan of the 'look' this stock is very comfortable
and the adjust meant is handy if you are wearing
a vest or backpack |
|
The barrel is it's weakest part. It's long
to abide with US
laws. The question is: Is the saiga 12 worth
the time & effort to SBS (short Barrel Shotgun)?
For about $200 pus some gunsmithing this Saiga
12 could be made to look like this 'photo-chopped'
version
