VZ 2000

These are very high quality AK47 style rifles from Czechoslovakia called the VZ-58. These were imported as parts and re-assembled by Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc. and called the VZ 2000. Built with a milled receiver, these semi-auto US legal rifles are as solid as their full-auto counterparts. While they look a lot like an AK47, they are not. They use the same ammo, but their magazines are quite different as well as the stock, receiver, gas system and even the bayonet. Here are some pictures of this high quality, unique and interesting rifle as it is delivered new in the box from OOW

Looking at the Vz.58 magazines (gray) and the AK47 magazine (black). it's easy to see differences right away. Most obvious is the large ridge clown the back of the magazine. The feed lips and follower are quite different as well

The Vz.58 bolt opens much differently than an AK47 as well. and it has a bolt hold open which is released under the receiver next to the magazine release

The barrel of the Vz.58 is lengthened to meet US laws to make it into a VX2000. The front sight post is similar to a Chinese AK47. The sling mount is ont he gas block
