The
front ends, Yugo AKs have three air holes
(gaps) which is an easy way to determine
a Yugo. The WASR-10 is a standard
fixed stock, full length version.
The Yugo Krink AKS-47U is a SBR (Short
Barreled Rifle) an NFA item that requires
a background check and a $200 federal tax
to shorten the barrel

The
receivers side by side. The Yugo Krink
is above (left) and is built on a Global
Trades (Arsenal USA) AK47 receiver, the WASR-10
is built on a Romanian AK47 receiver (with
no dimples)
|
|
The
two styles use different pistol grips the
Yugo Krink uses it's unique pistol grip,
the WASR uses a standard AKM pistol grip.
The Yugo Krink has the typical muzzle brake,
short barrel, and front sight ont
he gas block. The WASR-10 has the standard
length barrel with separate front sight
and gas block. Krink has no
cleaning rod

The
two side by side, with the Yugo Krink under
folding stock opened and closed

|
|
The
two side by side again. The Yugo Krink
doesn't look much smaller but when held
the few inches difference really makes
a difference. the Krink is a much better
weapon for inside a building, for hallways
and doors

|
|
Two
receivers side by side. Notice the polished
bolt carrier of the Yugo Krink, this is
a characteristic of most Yugo AK47s

|
|
Another
shot of both AKs. While they look mostly
similar, they are vastly different in
quality and their prices reflect
that. While the WASR costs less than $500,
the Yugo
Krink SBR will cost closer to $1400 after
the federal tax

|
These
two rifles disassemble quite differently.
Krinks have an attached receiver cover
with a hinge where the rear sight block
typically is. The WASR-10 disassembles
the same as any AKM
|
|
The
gas piston and bolt carrier are also modified
in a Krink, and the dust cover is
hinged. this example from Ohio Rapid
Fire has an aftermarket safety installed

|
|
Some
shots of the sights ont he Yugo Krink.
Almost all Yugo AKs have flip up
night sights, this Krink has a flip
up night sight in front and two night
sight 'dots' on the rear sight

The
unique wood on a Yugoslavian AK with three
air holes (gaps). The Global Trades receiver
looks great on this US made Yugo Krink
