Review:
I consider this to be one great receiver that will build an exceptional rifle. It is a strong, well made receiver that is user friendly as long as one has a minimal working knowlege of building techniques. I would recommend these receivers, I have been very pleased with them. I had 12 parts kits stowed back, so I purchased 4 of the OOW receivers to try them out. After being very pleased with my first two builds, I ordered enough receivers to finish all my kits. My cousin saw my builds and ordered a couple of receivers for himself also. These receivers aren't "idiot proof", but they will make a exceptionally strong gun as long as you use the proper building technique.(even a novice can build a really great project with these receivers as long as he does his homework on simple building techniques) After all is said and done, when I look at my finished rifles, I'll have to give thse receivers a 10 out of 10 star rating.
Pros:
A really strong and well made receiver that will make an above average build when properly fitted. OOW was a good company to do business with, friendly, prompt, and very reasonably priced.
Cons:
Receivers tend to be a little long.(1/16" or less) This is no problem though, as long as you set the front trunnion flush and set the back trunnion measured off of the front. An inexperienced builder might set both trunnions flush to the ends of the receiver without measuring. this can cause the distance between trunnions to be slightly long, but this usually doesn't affect the rifle functions, other than a small gap that might keep the top cover from butting up completely flush. Then again, I consider this as inexperience of the builder rather than a flaw in the receiver.

Review:
The Ohio 7.62x39 universal receiver requires some fitting and drilling. It is designed that way on purpose so a builder can custom fit the trunnions from a kit. Not all trunnions are the same. I found the length to be a bit long so I could file it flush with the trunnion after proper positioning. Having more metal than needed is a desirable feature for a custom build. I found the receiver to be absolutely perfect in fit and function during and after my build. It's thicker than 1mm (1.2mm) and feels solid. Glad I got it.
Pros:
I found the ohio universal receiver to be of high quality, and designed perfectly for a custom build. The predrilled holes, bends, rails, and overall dimensions were perfect and the receiver itself seems rock solid. I will buy another one for the next build.
Cons:
I can't think of one. No problems with the receiver at all. The only obstacles I had to overcome was my own ability to properly do the build.

 needs to be shorter.

Cons:
Seems to be too long. My top cover will come off in the front attach area when installed. The receiver seems about 1/16th too long
