I HAVE BEEN NOTHING LESS THAN IMPRESSED WITH MY ARSENAL SA M-7 CARBINE. IT IS AN OUTSTANDING PIECE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP! IT FIRES FLAWLESSLY, IS VERY ACCURATE, AND IS COMFORTABLE TO SHOOT. THE QUALITY IS EASY TO SEE, BUT IT ISN'T UNTIL YOU FIRE IT THAT YOU CAN FULLY APPRECIATE THE GUN. I LOVE IT. IT IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE AK47! |

The SA M-7 AK is in my opinion the best balance of quality with regard to metal finish, coating, and trigger smoothness versus price. Cheaper Romanian stamped AK's suffer from crappy gritty triggers and equally crappy finish and appearance, and the SA M-7 is significantly less expensive than the $1100 Polytech AK's, whose slightly better fit and trigger group are certainly not worth the price difference. Being a milled AK, the reciever is much stronger and not subject to any metal creep from extreme use like thin, stamped steel recievers. The extra weight lends a stronger feel to the firearm and assists in reducing the harsh recoil that the AK is known for. The trigger pull is very smooth and crisp for an AK, with no trigger slap or vibration imparted to the trigger finger as on cheaper AK models. If you have compared a Romanian SAR-1 to the Arsenal SA M-7, you will notice a world of difference in accuracy because of the superior performace of the milled, finely finished, and tempered parts of the SA M-7. Across the spectrum of price, the SA M-7 stands out as the best value. |
| Pros: |
Quality construction milled AK with resilient coating. Trigger group excels. Excellent trigger group. Lower muzzle rise than other AK's due to recoil compensator which, comboned with slight increase weight due to milled reciever, makes for much quicker aiming of consecutive shots. |
| Cons: |
New design barrel and gas block differs from traditional style AK's, not appealing as much to traditionalists who want a historical AK like the AK-47 Classic, which is virtually unobtainable. Compensator on muzzle negates use of bayonet, and increases muzzle noise dramatically. |
